WTF 2020? How Well Nutrition managed to turn around a shitter of a year…

Breathe in... breathe out...breathe in... breathe out...

The mantra that has pulled us through this year. Unfortunately 2020 has been a shitter year for a lot of people, so we're really grateful to report our year hasn't been all doom and gloom here at Well Nutrition. We've actually had a lot of exciting things happen this year. In March we ran a workshop at the Gisborne Boardriders Salty Sirens Women’s Surf Festival to help the women and girls of Te Tairāwhiti celebrate all the amazing things their bodies can do for them. In April we had the official start of client consultations in our new clinic space at 74 Grey Street, and the collaboration with two ACC providers to provide nutrition support to those recovering from injuries. Over lockdown we provided a series of workshops to help strength the nutrition knowledge of Green Prescription staff from Sport Waikato, and in August we started monthly wellness workshops with clients from Idea Services who have intellectual disabilities. Also in August Kate was busy completing an online course to up-skill her knowledge and confidence in intuitive eating, and in October we presented to a rest home about the importance of malnutrition screening, prevention, and treatment. We finally launched our brand new intuitive eating package in October, and in November we helped a local school ensure tamariki are being feed nutritious and yummy kai. Oh and Kate also juggled all of this with her part time job at Sport Gisborne Tairāwhiti, so no wonder she is hanging out for a break!!

But rest-assured 2021 is going to bring bigger and exciting things here at Well Nutrition including monthly nutrition workshops for the public both in person or virtually, and collaborations with local organisations to continue creating a culture of wellness within Te Tairāwhiti, NZ, and worldwide. Oh and hopefully more of these blog posts.

Stick around for the ride!
