Colourful Vege Wraps
Wraps are our go to meal at our house if we want something quick and easy. Kids will love this meal too if you lay everything out and let them build their own wrap, or get them to help you with the grating or chopping of salad ingredients. Did you know children are more likely to try/eat a food if they are involved in the preparation or cooking process?
Salad Ingredients
You really can put whatever salad ingredients you have in the fridge. Here are some ideas:
Beetroot grated
Carrot grated
Handful of greens e.g. spinach, rocket, or lettuce
Sliced tomato
Thinly sliced red onion
Sliced capsicum
Sliced cucumber
Cooked or raw mushrooms
Fill with a source of protein:
Halloumi
Chicken tenders
Sliced lean lamb or steak
Falafel patties
Sauce it up:
Hummus
Reduced fat sour cream
Tahini
Wrap it up
Choose grainy or high fibre wraps if you can. Look for wraps that have >6g fibre per 100g, otherwise choose the wraps that have the highest fibre content per 100g.
